Grinding Squeeling noise
So i'm slowing down on a decelerating ramp yesterday when i hit a pothole, then all of sudden the brakes slam on briefly (without my assistance) and the SRS light comes on. Now out of nowhere i hear a loud grinding (along w a wizzing noise) sound when i start accelerating over 20mph....and i mean, it sounds like complete $#@%. Anyone know what this could be? I might add, my rotors are extra old, but the pads are brand new. Thx for any help!

Stop driving it, if you haven't already...
Get the front wheel off and have a look... You could have a brake pad that sheered off the backing plate and is wedged in the caliper - but that would likely cause it to pull hard to one side and also to be difficult to accelerate.
It could be a hub assembly that is failing with bad bearings.
Whatever it is, it isn't good and you shouldn't drive it until you figure out what the problem is. You could be putting yourself or others in danger.

richief556,
While you are waiting on warmer weather, take a look at this post and give me some feedback on your tires...

i've had no problems w my tires. I was originally looking for a larger tire that fit my stock rims. Correction - when i first bought them 4 years ago, I was making a quick u turn and felt the steering lock up from the wheel getting stuck in the well.....its never happened again. I probably go hoggin about twice a year and have yet to get stuck (knock, knock). (VA woodlands terrain, GW Forest, etc.) If i had one thing to change it would have been raise the lift another inch to 3"...

I've had this thing for 11 years and I can't i'm actually saying this but...anyone know what the going rate for an 03 DII (100k) (requiring diff and tc) w 3" lift in DC metropolitan area is going for?
