Then I would probably go with a D1 or a classic as a starting point. Narrower bodies, better overhangs and suspension starting point. Don Happel (search him on instagram he beats on that truck mercilessly) has a d1 on 37s I think, wouldn't need to cut the top off but a cage would definitely be a good idea regardless of platform.

That was my initial idea. And its still a possibility if a d1 falls in my lap - but they're getting tough to find. And i generally just like the d2s
