Default Hand brake Adjustment?

Crawled under the D2 to adjust the handbrake according to the manual ,and I find I do not have an adjusting bolt on the handbrake drum backing plate, nothing anywhere that I could see. The only adjustment seems to be at the cable end near the lever ( which the manual also shows in addition to adjustment at the drum). Anyone else seen this or know of another way to adjust the handbrake? Thanks.

Well first thing is get on your old jump suit and find a 9/16 inch wrench you need to go digging. The drive shaft in mounted with 4 bolts you need to remove then the big crowbar pry away from the drum. Then comes the part if you see any shoe left around 3/16ths is ok. Then below you will see a ratchet device crank it around three times if you dont see any gear lube. I you see gear lube then you are into a rear tranfercase hub and seal, if not then set the drum back on and see how easy it remounts. easy then back off with the drum and back to the ratchet. Mack sure the shoes are aligned when you do this they can make it difficult to judge the correct drag.

Thanks for the reply, thats what I thought I might have to do. I did see a little oil on the drum so it looks like the seal needs to be replaced, but do I need to replace the hub as well?
