Has anyone discovered the trick for unsnapping 02 sensor plugs?

I have a 2000 Disco SD.
I've got the plug on the driver's side (downstream) that just does not want to come loose. It doesn't help matters that I can hardly getmy fingers up there while laying onmy back. I'm afraid i'm going to end up breaking the plug.

Try using a screwdriver to make sure that the threaded tab goes down as far as it will, then pull. Using your thumb only allows the tab to go down ad far as the sides, since your thumb is wider than the recess. I know my explanation sounds like WTF !!!
, but having it in your face will make it clear.

Ihad the same problem when changing mine. I dont know if you are replacing them but when i did mine i cut the wires right above the old sensor. unscrewed the sensor. then had some more room/slack to play with to get the plug loose. hope that helps. good luck.

Those sound like good ideas to try. I have already tried the screw driver approach. I ended up breaking off a piece of the snap from the existing plug. I didn't want to tear it up too bad in case I couldn'tfinish.
Thanks for the ideas!

I tapped the plug with my screwdriver to dislodge all the dirt that built up over the years. Once it starts to come loose, keep moving it back and forth and tap it to get the dirt out. Don't let any get in your eyes!
The passenger side rear O2 is very difficult to reach since Land Rover decided to put the plug on top of the T-case.
Cheers,
Pete
