Default Has anyone just used gasket seal for the upper intake mani?

I just did a head job and figured out that I didnt get a upper intake manifold gasket with the head gasket kit. I had tossed the old gaskets and assume I tossed the upper gasket as well. Can i just use gasket seal? Its Ultra Black RTV. Thanks

I took one apart that someone used black gasket seal instead of using the actual gasket. It didn't work out too well. I think I did a video of the removal so I'll see if I can take a picture from the video and post it. It was basically like there was no gasket at all.

It's pretty cheap. If it were me, I'd just order one and do it right.

These are some pictures from the video I took. These were taken right after lifting the upper intake manifold. Nothing was scraped off. This is all that was left after someone used a liquid gasket seal instead of the actual gasket.

Don't cheap out.
Use a real gasket.

The gasket maker stuff is $6 anyway.

You almost could buy raw gasket paper and cut your own.

I have seen a hybrid metal gasket in there.
Metal with gasket material on top and bottom.
