Just picked up a 2004 D2 and want to swap in the old headlights, actually. I prefer the look and already have a bunch laying around. Any idea what's involved?

 

Not 100% sure but you will need an older grill. I'd be curious if you are looking to sell the 03-04 headlights and grill. I want to retrofit projectors into a pair and increase the light output.

 

Grill will not be an issue, I’ve run 99-02 grills on a 94-99 D1 & I’ve used the 03-04 grill on 99-02 D2’s.

 

This truck was at hill country Rover rally and it is not an 03 or 04 and he did the change.

I don’t know if the swap was done right or not but I looked at it closely and he had to trim the fenders where they met the headlight

 

If you have an 03-04 and want 94-02 style you will need the holes for the headlight holders which are part of the core support. Then you’d just have to change the wiring of coarse.
