Dude, it looks suspect. I would just pull each fuel injector and soak the business end in Carb Cleaner over night. Be-careful not to damage the seals.

I've used a similar device from BG. It worked great. This was on Hondas which are about 1000 times easier to work on than the discovery (and the discovery isn't that bad). On a disco 2, I'd be worried about how to connect it. Normally you'd disconnect the supply, block off or bypass the return, and run the engine off this thing. If you can figure out a good way to hook it it, it will probably do a fine job, though I'd be tempted to use the cleaners from BG, because I know how well they work. Their part number was 208 or 210...I don't remember... one was the BG44K, which is an in the tank additive.

I remember the owner of the shop and I used this on an 80 series land cruiser that came in with a dead miss on a cylinder. We ran a can of cleaner through it, and it sucked it in WAY too fast, but then started to run smooth. It seems that an injector was stuck open, and it cleaned it up just fine. We ran a second can just to be sure everything was good.

I don't know why I chose this as my first post, but here goes.

For injector cleaning you need to take them out and send them to a shop that has the proper ASNU ultrasonic equipment. In-tank cleaners only do so much and cannot get every bit of varnish and debris out of the nozzles. I have rebuilt and serviced a few engines with injectors this way and there is a night and day difference in performance. I know of a place that has a two day turn around and only charges $16.00 each. I'm not sure of the forum rules but if I get permission I will be happy to post the site. The injectors come back very clean and I plan on doing this to my 04 Disco next week during my 60,000 service here at my house.

I think I need to do an introduction post now.

As long as you use goods fuel you should never need a injector cleaner.
Even with crap fuel you still should only need to use the in tank stuff once in a blue moon.

The bg system was only like $200 a few years back, but you had to get all of the fuel rail adapters separate.
