Exclamation head gasket?

Hey guys I was driving the disco when I noticed a "burnt oil" smell as I pulled in the drive. I parked it till this morning and when I moved it there was a nice big oil spot. Crawled under it and there's oil all over the right hand side under the manifold. I'm going to wash and put tracer dye to try to pinpoint the leak this weekend and have it parked till then. But I'm thinking head gasket or timing cover, just bought this disco( the famous $350 disco for those who remember) and am hoping I don't have to sell due to major repairs. Anyone have an idea?

No, it does not sound like a head gasket. A big oil spot on the floor means a hose or something else with a hole in it. Not a gasket.

I just had my head gasket replaced. Same symptom. While I was putting my lift kit on I noticed a crazy amount of oil splattered all over the place (mostly the bell housing), but I couldn't find where the leak was coming from. I took it in to the dealer and they diagnosed a head gasket issue...among other things. They also blessed the work I did on the lift.

check the valve cover. the exhaust could be burning off the oil on top, but if it is leaking that bad, it could get everywhere
