head gasket job, getting rolling in Denver
I started the head gasket job on Wednesday, thanks very much to a very kind Denver local and some amazing alignment of circumstances. I nearly have the heads pulled. I just need to yank the bolts and they're off. So far it hasn't been the most frustrating job I've done on the Rover. However, I still had a few minor snags. I had to cut off the secondary air intake pipes. I just looked at those and they broke. But I already have some replacements. The more serious snag is with one of my fuel injector connectors. I pulled it the wrong way and one of the 2 wires in the connector pulled out. I need to somehow find a replacement connector that I can splice in. Do any of you have an engine wiring harness around, maybe not in great shape, but with a connector I could salvage. I would gladly pay for it. Here's hoping since I need to finish putting it together next weekend.
Update: These connectors I found on Ebay look correct. I'm going to get a close up picture to verify. They say they fit Bosch style obd1 clip injectors and list a lot of vehicles. Does anyone know if that's correct on a discovery II?
