Just did, really nice to see it. It's daunting, but I can do it.

Totally. I think there is some bits in the second vid which don't really apply to doing the HG -- the trans lines i think. They have another vid about actually installing a new block, so i think those parts in the film are part of that video.

I keep telling myself that this is just a big lego car and I'm taking bits off and then putting them back on.

When I did mine, made a kind of punch list based on the P38 blog and Rave. Helped me to think through it and put down on paper that its just a step by step process. Even with busting a headbolt, a few times putting things in wrong or in wrong order, dropped nuts, bolts and tools, and tons of time for cleaning parts, had the whole job done in the course of 2 weekends. Very doable.

I am going to print Torque values, Read the the Rave, and watch the videos. Try to be patient and careful, a few hours at a time. I am hoping to do it right the first time, and am now leaning towards ARP Studs. I think I really want to keep the engine around, and even drop it in a rust free DII eventually. I think it is worth the peace of mine, and the fact I am doing it myself is a bit nerve wracking.

Decided on ARP Studs. Lucky 8 will take my other bolts back. I was originally going to paint the intakes beige and Valve covers Dark Green, but I am going to skip the beige and have the machine shop paint them aluminum color and clearcoat a couple of times. The bare metal really collects dirt, and they will match the block and oil pan. I am going to refurbish and paint the Coolant pipes in orange engine paint with clear. Also, going to switch all of the hose clamps to the screw on type. Will inspect all hoses as I go.

I am going to get Permatex Hi-Tack after watching AB's video. Great idea, and I can see that the shop that did my valve covers did not.

Remanned fuel injectors are in.

Doe anyone know where to get push mount cable ties to attach the wiring harness to the fuel rail? Rovers North didn't know.
