Dumb question maybe. Do you need to change oil after a head gasket change if you do not drop anything in there?

I guess it would depend on how recently you changed the oil? You’re gonna loose some while taking stuff apart so either add some or just do a change. I’m gonna change mine probably but mine is due for it.

To clean the boltholes of the block, I am going to use brake cleaner and a can of compressed air.

Anyone have a better idea? I am thinking tooth brush and brake cleaner for the pistons as well.
