Head gasket kit
Be doing my first Disco head gasket job soon..... Had a new mystery water leak start a couple weeks ago, pressure tested the system this weekend and found the leak above the starter....Could someone post a link or point me in the right direction of where to buy the complete gasket kit? I might do the valve stem seals also. Engine has 172,000, uses a little oil on long road trips, but has been a great engine.

After looking at Amazon finally...lol I will probably order this kit.

I have the same rear corner weep on the drivers side. So slow it doesn't even drip or show coolant loss over the last few months. Thus far I think it might only leak when cold then stops when warmed up. At this point I am hedging that it will fix itself. Happens right? But IF it doesn't I guess a head gasket replacement is in order. I hear talk about coating with the copper sealant stuff. When this is done do you mask off the firing rings? I was thinking maybe if the copper was only applied around the coolant channels it might help stave off this external leak coolant leak. Assuming it would squish under and not create a problem in thickness variation.

I don’t think it will fix itself. I had the same leak on my P38. I finally decided to tackle the inevitable HG replacement, so I ordered all the bits. When I was disassembling it I found the rear left manifold bolt completely loose, so I think that was the issue all along. As I had the parts and was half way there I did the HG’s anyway. That’s just to say that it’s possible you don’t need to dig too deep. Also, like you, if it’s such a tiny leak I’d be tempted to postpone it for a while, but keep a close eye on it. Others here, probably more wisely, may suggest not postponing it.
