Default head gasket, and what else?

My 03 D2 is and has run mostly perfectly for 160,000 miles, and now I'm starting to think about getting the head gasket done. I bought the kit with bolts from BP Utah, and I'm wondering what else I should replace while the top of the engine is off. (cams, valve job?). and what parts would i need for those extra updates. I think most everything is up to date that's a regular maintenance or even major service stuff. No check engine light on, and the engine runs perfect

thanks,
scott

I would have the head decked so they are true and replace the valve guide seals. In order to replace the cam, timjng chain or oil pump will require pulling the front cover and dropping the oil pan.

thanks, Is the timing chain something that should last? or is it a replace at xxxxxx miles part. I'm also in the engine block death vin range, and have never had an issue with that. I bought it at 15,000 miles, and thought maybe the engine blew and was replaced before I bought it, or I got a good one
