Head lights going on and off.
It all started with the clutch on the compressor locking up and trashing the Serp belt. Got all fixed.
Last night daughter calls me to let me know all the lights on her dash was coming on and her headlights were going off.
Went to limp her home and noticed that the headlights seemed to go off during acceleration.
Is it possible the pressure put on the serp belt by the compressor locking up strained the tensioner or a idler pully? I always thought our spring loaded tensioners were pretty hardy.
Could it be a diode or something in the alternator going bad? When I got home, I tested at the battery and read 14.1 volts, but that was at idle and the headlights were on. I had the alternator rebuilt about 2 years ago.
She had just got back from Athens (GO DAWGS). So had already drove over 200 miles since the new belt and compressor, so this was turn the car off, crank a few hours later and everything is mad.
Any other thoughts?

Additional info. Went to start today and check voltage on the battery first. Below 7v. No starty.
Jumped and never got anything above 13.6v and dropped as it was running. Seems like the Alternator to me.
Decided to take to Advanced Autoparts to have the components tested. On the drive to Advance and from, none of the console lights lit up like it did the day before, but low beams would not work but high beams did.
The testing showed that even with everything off, something was bleeding the electrical system. Drove back home with no warning lights on the console but no low beams but high beams did work.

nope, this is actually while driving.
Now I cannot get the low beams to come on at all. Could the reving the truck and the lights coming on be a coincidence and in fact switch was going out and is now gone?
Checking the fuses now to see if they are still good.

did the belt shred to pieces? chop off any wiring? i would look at wiring damage if that belt started to wack stuff around, alternator wiring etc, sounds like that is where your problem is, bad damaged wiring and now you have a draw issue, killing your battery
The belt did shred, but I analyzed all wires and everything looks good.
I tested power at the headlights and got a good reading.
So far just tracked to two low beam bulbs blow, AT THE SAME TIME. replaced and now everything is normal. WEIRD!!!!
Not sure what the hell happened and can't guarantee it won't happen again.
