Default Headlight

Does anyone know what the little bulb in the headlight (01 D2) is for? I"ve tried all the switches, buttons & ***** & can't get either side to come on. I replaced one side with a new bulb just in case but nothing works. Nothing in Rave other than replace the whole assembly. Thanks.

Turn just the parking lights on. What it's for, I do not know.

Tried that, didn't see them come on. Maybe somethings not working (I must be wrong, LRs never have electrical problems).

There is a possibility, then, that mine are having problems, because they come on with the parking lights. I know that some European vehicles have those little bulbs in there to come on when a headlight burns out, but I don't know if this applies to our vehicles.

Perhaps someone who actually knows the function and normal operation of said bulbs will speak up.....

The bottom little bulb is your runner, and the top little bulb is for the turn signal.

His is a 2001, so there are just two bulbs in the headlight assembly, the headlight bulb, and the miniature light. We don't have the fancy lights like your 2003,

The small bulb in the headlights are called city lights. In Europe they are used so that people in their apartments are bothered by headlights. They are supposed to turn on with the parking lights.

Pretty cool looking too I think. My Hella 4000's also have them, Angus looks sweet at about dusk going down the road

What AK Rover said, they only come on when the running lights are on and not with the headlights.
If they are not coming on then they are bunt out.

The amber turn signal bulbs only light with the blinkers.
