Default Headlight housing issues

So the headlight went out today on my 2004 discovery II and when I went to replace it the head broke off 1 screw (a in the photo) and the other just spins (b) To make thinks worse the side tab that is held in with the torx screw was broken. Now my housing is lose and is just held in with the screw that spins. Just wondering if anyone had an easy fix for this problem?

did you try removing the battery and see if you can replace the bulb that way, from behind.

the housing comes out with the torx screws not the philips heads. The philips head are headlight adjusters.

what i meant was if you take out the battery and box can you change the bulb from behind rather than removing the light housing?

That's odd because the other side housing came out with those screws and no beam adjustments needed afterward.

Did not try that yet but will this evening.

Actually, that is incorrect for the 03-04 D2. There are three philips head screws that need to come out in order to remove the headlight assembly from the chassis. Two are directly above the headlight housing (marked "A" & "B") and the third is accessed by removing the grille, then by opening the plastic cover flap.

At least that is what the Owner's Manual says. Maybe if the philips screws are rusted then removing the Torx screws is another option -- but it looks like the top plastic piece will also come out with the headlight assembly when you remove the Torx screws.
