Default Headlight Washer Schematic

Looking at my car, I have two detached hoses hanging on both sides of the headlight washers. It really perplexed me until I found this online photo. Hope it helps someone else too.

Hey guys, I pulled the drivers side panel off of the wheel well. I can't seem to figure our why there are two hoses. The schematic in the RAVE book doesn't show the complete hose configuration.

The two hoses that go across to the passenger side are in the right spot, but I seem to have two thinner hoses on either side of the car...connecting to nothing. Any help would be great.

Here are the two hoses that connect to nothing. Even on the other ends. Do you know what they are?

Yep, those 2 hard plastic (as opposed to softer rubber for the washer fluid) are for the fog lamps. Basically... when you drive thru water (wading!) if the fog lamps are on and hot, they'd explode ! So... these are basically breather tubes to relieve pressure in the fog lamp housing so that doesn't happen. They are open to air at the end just like they are in your above pic

Thank you! Where do you tie down the other end which come out right above my washer fluid tank?
Thx
Sean

Oh, I think still confused. There is a rubber tube that should be in the bottom of the washer fluid reservoir, so the fluid can get over to the headlamp washers in the bumper. Is that what you mean?

For the fog lamps, the other end should be shoved in the back of each fog lamp assembly. This is helpful diagram here -- https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...l-water-52947/

That’s exactly it. My truck’s tube system was torn apart when I got it, so it’s been one big jigsaw puzzle. Thanks for helping me.

Here is another diagram I found for anyone else.

yep, excellent. I forgot to mention (And the diagram you posted reminded me), for anyone else looking at this, the hard plastic tubes that go into the fog lamps actually are connected to the fog lamp via a short length of rubber flexible tubing (which makes it all a bit even more confusing!)
