Default Headliner

Hi everyone,

My headliner was caving in around me and I'm taking it out and sending it to an upholstery shop to be repaired.

My question is, while I have the headliner down, I'd like to jump on the opportunity in case there is anything I should inspect? I just hear a lot about sunroofs, leaks, etc. and thought I would check.

Also, there isn't any reason I can't drive the car while the headliner is out, is there? (Dropping off and picking up from the upholstery shop.)

Thanks in advance!

There is also a popular DIY painting option for your headliner, not sure if you've seen it yet ---> https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...iner-d2-26219/ Lot's of guys have done it with good results.

Check out the sunroof drains is a big one while the headliner is out, then maybe wire up some roof lights You'll be fine to drive without the headliner...

Good luck, post up BEFORE/AFTER pics for the next guy whichever route you choose!

Slightly on this subject of headliners... is the "Volumetric sensor" something that is there based on model year, or trim level? My 99 has it, but my 03 just has a blank in the headliner where it would be. I can choose in the BCU setup whether it's installed or not.

Thanks, Rob! I actually did see that thread, which is where I went to find out how to take it out. I just am not crazy about the whole black ob beige look. I'll be sure to post before and afters though!

Jafir, I know what you're referring to, but don't have it...I have a feeling it might be based on model year....kind of like the HomeLink buttons.
