Default Headliner sagging

Hey people. New here. But wondering how many of you have had your headliner start to sag and how you approached the repair? Did you go to a Professional? If so, what was the approximate cost? Easy enough DIY? Thanks for any input.

Had my 04 SE for about 4 years now. It’s been a both good rider and a pain in the *** as well. Hopefully getting her back to a daily soon.

I recovered mine. Most folks just remove the cloth and foam then paint it.

there is a write up in the sticky's up top

In Orange County CA, UNION JACK 4X4 does them for about $250. I got mine done there...

Can be fixed/renewed/replaced with enough money.
If not in too bad condition, my way is with a fatty-enough-to-flow syringe with white 'school' glue. Go trough the fabric and guess-insert a drop of it; press/prop with a sponge for a while. When the glue dries, do another spot. Do not use too much glue, many grains of rice size spots work better than a larger blob, and do not show.
At least there is nothing to lose if you try.

glue like that can make for big headaches if you eventually decide to do something different like strip off the fabric and paint it. the glue residue is often really hard to remove.

Yes the sunroofs leak, but unless there are water stains evident that may not be the cause here. The headliners sag because the foam layer in between the fabric and the fiberglass shell disintegrates over time. That's a big reason I painted mine; it can never sag again and it looks great.
