Last summer I had my headliner re-done for $200. They removed it and re-installed it. Shop some upholstery shops or local land rover shop.

Turns out, my headliner guy is super awesome and didn't charge me for the fabric he used. He took some 65" fabric he had that matched my fabric and repurposed the 64" fabric I'd brought in. What a guy. So it only cost me $100 plus tax for his labor. I disassembled the headliner entirely, including removing all plastic pieces, but that's an easy, no-skill-necessary job.

Hey za105, when removing your headliner did you start in the rear or front? I have to remove mine so I can make sure the sunroof drains are good, run wiring for the lights on the roof rack, ham radio, & dynomat the inside before re-installing it. Any things to look out for when removing it? I just got it redone a few months ago and wanna try and keep it intact.

Bignacio, I started in the front. Follow the guide on these forums, it’s good.

Take pictures of where every fastener came out. Fold the second row seats all forward. Angle a front seat all the way forward, and the second front seat all thecway back; helps with turning the headliner at an angle to get it out. It helped me a ton to just go ahead and remove the upper trim panels in the cargo area—just a few more fasteners, and you can get away with not removing the seat belt bolt and only lowering the trim panel a little, to allow the headliner to come out.

You can easily test your drain tubes without disassembly btw. Park facing down a bit of an incline, pour a cup of water in the open sunroof trough on the left side, quickly duck underneth and you’ll see water draining out the bottom if it’s clear. All four of mine were clear after all, just a little debris.
