Default heat shield repair ???

the heat shield on my passenger side catalytic converter is rattling around. the welds on the top and bottom have come apart on the backside. right now i have used a pretty ghetto fix but it has worked for a week or so with no problems. i clamped down two small c clamps. i was thinking of using a pipe clamp with a jubilee clip and wrapping it around the whole cat. anyone else have any ideas to hold me over for a bit till i get cash to replace it? i was thinking JB weld and remembered it won't hold up to heat that high... help a brother out!

If I remember there has to be a bit of air flow gap between the shield and the cat.
If not and it were mine, I would take it to a muffler shop and let them tack it.
