Default Heated seat always on!

Hey guys. long time no see. So my latest problem is the drivers side heated seat seems to always be on. The button still works with the light going off and on but in the off position my *** is still hot? Anyone had this problem before. Thought I would ask before I start tearing things apart. THX

The heating element is broken and the weight of your butt is closing the circuit and by closing the circuit you are in effect pressing the switch.

You have 2 options.
1-pull the relay under the seat.
2-replace the heating element.

Not sure how hard it is, but you need to remove the seat cover and then replace the heating element.

I was going to take one out one time and I never did, once I riped up the plastic clip and learned the heating pads are gluded down! That job might suck sume you might want to take the seats out!

Taking the seat out is the "easiest" way to do it, done 3 on P38 range rovers now.

And dont bother trying to get the old on out, just lay the new element over the top. The seat is trimmed with "sharp" little hog rings, they are awful bloody things!!!.......remove them, BIN them and use small tie wraps (zip ties) to refit the seat trim back together.

Incidently, although the switch "seems" to be working, it may be the contacts inside have "fused" together so its always powered, swap the switch to check before you pull the seat imo, I doubt your weight can make it work as it still has to go through the switch.
