The day we went to look at the vehicle the dealer had lost the keys and being that it is located an hour away we havent test drove it yet.

Thanks,

No Discoveries are not top heavy, all of the weight is tucked down between the frame rails and lower, the axles are solid both front and rear and heavy and strong as a bridge girder.
The body on a DII is all aluminum except for the roof and doors, they are steel.
These trucks can traverse a 45% grade without rolling over.

As for the head gaskets, they tend to go bad in the 80-100k mile range.
Like Mike said though that is subject to change.

Here is some light reading for you.

The seats in the SD are not leather, they are vinyl. The heating element is in all the seats, SD or SE, you just have to install the switches.

Does this hold true for my 00 D II? I have the SE with the heated windshield leather seats and no switches for the possible seat heaters in the center console. The gentleman at BAR to me that he was almost 100% sure there is heated seats hiding in my Disco too and all we need to do was replace the center console with the correct one with the switches too. The truck didn't come with the basic owners manual so little issues are a pain.

Seat heater elements are not in either the rare cloth or any vinyl seats, just leather.

Most areas, right now, should have 03's at $8000 if not on Rover's vin list for possible engine failures.
Hey Mike,

I am new to Land Rovers. I just purchased an '04 Discovery II (S) Model. I added the heated seat kit from Atlantic British. The LED's come on but no heat. It does not have leather but it does have the Duragrain (No CLOTH.) Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Guys,
This sucks. I guess I will just purchase the heating elements now that I have the switches.
