Default heated windshield problem

My Discovery 2 (2003 my) heated windscreen is not working very well. Now there are two vertical areas about 2 cm wide that aren't cleared when I turn it on. Can anyone suggest a resolution, or should I change the windshield for a new one?

Thanks!

That's the windshield its self. Nothing you can do about that but replace it.
Of course at that size, I'd just recommend getting over it. It's an expensive part!

Open your hood and look for the connections at each bottom corner of windshield, make sure they are plugged in all the way if good there then your windshield it self is failing.

You have some chips or cracks that have broken some of the heater element wires. Only way to fix it is replace it.

Yep, the plugs are only two wire, the tiny elements are divided up into columns inside the glass itself. I recall one post where a member had a turkey fly up and strike his windshield, and it was covered by insurance.
