Default Heater core; is there a write-up? who had done it.

there are a large number of post people talking about doing heater cores in a few people saying they did it pretty easily in a few people saying it took them 12 hours. Is there any definitive write-up on how to do this more quickly? I cannot seem to find one anywhere.

I've replaced mine. It's a pain of a job but there are short cuts if you want to attempt them. Its been a few years since I did mine but as I recall the hardest part of the job and the reason it sucks is because the bracket holding the heater pipes has a screw that is reversed so you can't unscrew it from the side of the passenger. Some one later suggested using pliers to turn the screw by the tail end and loosen the bracket. That might actually work. IF you can do that you might be able to loosen the bolts on the right hand side and pull the dash just enough to slide out the heater core. I ended up doing mine by the rave manual in the end.

You want to avoid nicking or pulling at the heater pipes at all cost because they are a soft metal and bend and damage pretty easily.

We're waiting on you, lol.

When I removed my engine the entire coolant system, water jackets, and coolant itself looked new.
I have no reason to suspect my heater core is clogged either. But, since I have replaced the rest of the entire coolant system anyway, my engine's still out, and a heater core is around $40, I'm thinking I'm going to replace it too.
Couldn't hurt, and looking at it, it really doesn't look that bad. I've seen and done much worse.
If no one has posted a write-up by the time I get to it, I'll do one with step by step and pictures.

The race is on to make a useful guide or video! The best I can find is that "rundown" video on youtube. Time to make a better one!

it's not really a write-up, but there seems to be an interesting mod to make life a little easier in this thread: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ore-fix-27697/

I'll do mine before I put my engine in, after I rebuild it, time to do so is the killer right now

Good find. Why are people welding these in? I get you can cut them, but wouldn't the clamp hold them in?
