My wife is in Omaha, and I'm still in Idaho. This morning she developed a heater core leak, leaking coolant on the floor board passenger side.

I am not there to repair it, and won't be for 3 more weeks. My question is can she by pass it by cutting the hoses, clamping a nipple on the in and the out, andclampa hose between the 2 nipples? I would think this would work for now until I got there to replace the heater core.

The next question, if she can't do this herself, does anyone know of a shop in the Omaha area (other than the dealer) that could do that for her cheap?

Yes she can do that. Just make a loop and run one heater line to the other. If she were to just plug them they might leak from the pressure, not sure though.
If she is not sure how to do it she could go to a small shop and ask them to do it.

EDIT-any indy muffler shop would do it.
