Default Heater Core / O Rings

Ok, Guys, I need some help. I have searched throughout this forum and others about my problem. I have a '99 Disco II w/ 150k miles. Just recently, I have noticed the coolant on the passenger floor and the smell through the vents. All the signs of a bad heater core/ o rings leak.

Here's the problem... The two dealerships I called today to get the o rings both said that on the Disco II's, there are no o rings. The pipes are welded to the heater core. Is this true? And if so, does that mean I need to replace the heater core as well?

I am assuming my o rings are leaking... but if it IS my heater core, I guess that will answer my question.

Somebody please help!!!

The dealer is always the last resort.

Here is page from the RAVE tech manual, with dealer "job task number" at the top, they may have a parts list for that job. It says O rings are there.

Since you can get the whole factory manual set for free (this week only) at the link below, you'll save so much money you can afford to get one of those swanking oil drain plug washers you have been wanting as well.

The dealer is incorrect - the lines are absolutely not welded. O-rings & Clamps are used. I believe the part number on the O-rings is STC3166 @ around $11 ea and the size is 17mm ID 18.2mm OD.

awesome thank you... i'm trying to get those o'rings from the dealer but they're giving me grief.

Just to confirm, this part # will fit a '99 Disco II, right? And, this is the o ring that goes into the heater core, not the other end?

spike555's link listed the part number, and the application:

STC3166

D1 and 2, and the 1995 RRC (has a different dash than the older RRC)
