Default Heater return pipe

Can anyone give me a quick and dirty on sealing the heater return pipe? Goes into the front left of the lower intake and is secured by a bolt. I've taken mine out and replaced it, but there is a gap between the plate on the pipe and the intake. Mine is leaking.

Did you get the O-ring fully seated and pushed down to the shoulder?
My daughter is using my truck today so I can't check if there was a tubing spare or something under the bracket mount?

I'm still using the original o ring if you mean the one on the pipe. If there is a spacer at the top, then I don't have one.

I have several old head gasket kits. Should the be o rings in them for that pipe? I wasn't even sure it was an o ring because though I saw a black material toward the end of the pipe, it was flush with the pipe! That could definitely be an issue.

The rave is silent.

Are you asking about where is bolts to the side of the upper intake plenum where the little stud sticks out on the passenger side?
If so than yes there is an aluminum space between the bracket and the plenum. Looks like a thick washer only made from aluminum.
It's easier to install if you jam a couple nuts together and remove the stud first than slide the washer behind and than install the stud.

I always remove this stud when pulling the plenum so I don't have to remove that tube.

That's whats left of the o-ring.
I put a little grease on it when installing it so it slides in easier.

Okay I found a spare return pipe in the garage. It had been shade treed and had rtv and an o ring on it that did not fit. But it didn't leak, either. I checked my box of o rings and a new head gasket kit and couldn't find anything that would work. I hate to rtv but I just might.

HG kits do not have the o-ring

Joe is that some kind of odd o ring or should I be able to find it at a parts store? When I say land Rover at parts stores they just sigh and send the customers in line to other registers.
