Question Heavy duty flex plate?

I have taken apart my Disco2 again because the transfer case leaked out all of its gear oil and fried... So I am taking it apart and I see leakage from the Bellhousing.. When I did this job last time, I did not change out the rear main or the trans front seal... so now I am doing the job I should have done last time..

My question is, is there a stronger than factory flexplate for my truck? can I double up or make one out of stronger material??

This lightweight aluminum flexplate exploded last time I towed my boat with it. I hate not being able to tow stuff with my truck.

Wow, that's cheap.

So what does the starter engage against in a D2? I assumed it meshed with the flex plate.

The flywheel

Ya if I knew about this plate when I did the rebuild I would have gotten it. Heck if I knew about it yesterday I would have bought it along with my ashcroft order for 1.41 transfer case gears

C'mon KK, buck up and concentrate harder eh

The flex plate is independent of the flywheel and starter ring gear.

Atlantic British sells a heavy duty flex plate. I had my blow out last summer and put the HD plate in. It's been great.
