Hella 500 wiring to an additional cruise control switch
I have a set of hella 500 driving lights that I am looking to install. I have an additional locking cruise control switch which I will change the cap for. The switch also has the connector and four wires coming from it. The lights came with a wiring harness and a switch but I would prefer to use the cruise control switch to make it look factory. Does anyone know how I can adapt the cruise control switch to the Hella wiring harness? I can seem to find any information about which wires go where. There are 5 pins for the cruise control switch with wires connected to pins 1,2,4,5.
I would also like to be able to turn on the driving lights whenever the car is on rather than to only come on with the high beams. Thanks for your help.

I recently did something similar.
I used a rear window wiper switch to turn on an external fan.
The rear wiper switch had three wires coming out of the wiring harness. I only used two of them.
Here is a picture of my wiring diagram.
My D2 does not have ACE so I used a fuse jumper to get power to the switch. The relay I used is in the engine bay. I normally don't like fuse jumpers but since there was no ACE and no power being pulled from that slot I felt fine about it. Plus the switch gets no power unless the keys are in the ignition.
I think you will be able to run the black wire to 86 on the relay and then just process of elimination of which of the other wires work when connected to the power from where you choose to get it. (in my case the jumper from the interior fuse box where the fuse is for ACE).

some of the dash switches are 'momentary' and some are 'I/O' If it's an I/O switch, just find the conducting pair. make sure it's not the wire for lighting the internal LED. Also, You can use the 'momentary' switches, like a spare rear fog or front fog, BUT yu have to wire in a NEGATIVE ground relay sensor circuit
like this:
if interested, just look on ebay/amazon for (you want the one that has LOW level trigger so that it works with NEG ground switch on dash) These come in 30 amp versions so you could wire them directly to LEDs, or use a 10 amp latch to run several 30 amp relays:

In order to run the relay, you have to wire the I/O switch with a conductive pair at 12v. You have to test the switch leads to find the correct pair. There are four wires. One is to the LED. You don;t want to use that one to run power though for your light relay.
I don't remember if cruise switch is momentary or I/O. If you push it and it clicks, then there is a conducting pair of wires...
EDIT: you could wire in a positive sensing relay circuit if you wanted to...I was just using the OEM harness wiring and switch setup in the video.
For the LED to light, just take power off the switched relay
