There are probably hundreds of threads on ticking noises. Start reading.

Mine was a simple combination of heavier oil, new plugs, and swapping out to the lower-temp thermostat.

no code came out
it just said "catalyst deteriorated bank 1"

anyone had this before

There's no such thing as a new problem with the D2. You better learn how to search or start breaking out your wallet at the shop.
