Default Hellroaring Battery Isolator question

My Disco II I have recently purchase came with a Hellroaring battery isolator with in dash LED remote. I need some help on understanding the correct way to use it. I understand that the switch gives me three options, off, auto, and on. What is the difference between running it on "auto" and running it "On"? When running it on auto the LED light will illuminate but turn off if I put excessive loads on it such as running aftermarket lights, sometimes it will even turn off by itself after 15 or 20 mins of driving. Is this a sign of something wrong with the alternator or one of the batteries? If I turn the switch to "ON" it will stay illuminated no matter what loads I put on the battery or how much driving I do. I have tried to google this, but there is not much info out there about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go onto the hellroaring website. Great troubleshooting info but it looks like your alternator is inadequate according to there sight.

I checked their website and saw the same thing, so I had a full electrical test done and alternator/battery both checked good. Ive check all wires and connections to find nothing.
