Default help

I have a 1998 Land Rover Discovery. Saturday I notice that anti-frezze was leaking from behind the right front tire. I could not find the leak. I topped of the fuilds, check my oil, tranmission fuild everything looked good. Truck was not over heating. While driving later I noticed what appeared to be smoke / steam coming from the dash. Then out of the vents, when I turn on the heat, alot of smoke/steam comes pouring out of my vents, like a cloud of smoke, when I turn it to cool air, not so much but still some, and when I turn it off, it appears to come from under the dash. Any idea what is going on hear. Please help
Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like you have a bad heater core. Pop your hood and find the 2 heater hoses going into your dash. Take a small piece of pipe from your local hardware store and join the 2 hoses together.

Make sure and do this with the engine cold! Bleed the coolant system and top off. If it stops leaking, replace the heater core. Good used ones can be found at www.rolerlandparts.com

I wouldn't wait if it is leaking. These trucks don't take overheating at all. You can drop a liner easy and then your whole engine block is toast. Once you have the parts, bypassing it shouldn't take ten minutes. If you aren't mechanical, call a shop and ask them if they can bypass it. Should do it under $50.

Don't go throwing any parts at your truck till you get the coolant system pressurized to confirm what is leaking.
Let us know what you find.
