Help?
Okay so I'm not the most car savvy guy in the world, I can admit that. I just bought my Discovery II recently and I had to take it to a shop to get an exhaust problem fixed. It wasn't really a big deal. So when they returned the car to me it seemed to be working pretty well and then I went to start it the next day, turned the heater on and the lights started flickering and the car started shaking, the fumes smelled horrible. I'm trying to figure out what on earth they could have done to it. And I don't really want to take it back to them because it doesn't seem like they know what they're doing when it comes to land rovers.
Any one have any ideas as to what it might be?

Oh sorry right. The check engine light came on at the very last second before it died and it was the headlights that were flickering.
Either go buy an OBDII code scanner and pull the codes or go to Autozone, Advance Auto, etc and get them to pull the codes for you for free...
Come back with the code(s), post them up, and we can help you from there.
Welcome to the world of Land Rovers
(they're actually not that bad...treat them well, stay on top of maintenance, and they'll treat you well right back).

I believe all the levels are good. I'm going to go out there and check everything out again in a little bit. but I didn't see any white smoke.
Save yourself some time and buy an ODBII scanner, you can get them for about $50 US. That will allow you to read the codes and clear them, you are going to use it as long as you have the disco.
Get the codes (not the description of the code) and post them here.
