Default Help 4 hrs from home need tensioner pulley help!

We are 4 hrs away from home on vacation and we headed out this morning to do some sight seeing and when I started the car I got the M+S light flashing with a pending code of 1562. Took it over to Advance Auto to have the battery and alternator tested and it was all with in specs and the M+S light and pending code all went away at re-start up. But, what I did find was grinding noise form the small idler pulley and a little noise form the tensioner pulley. They had the small idler in stock so I swapped that on but they had no listing for the tensioner. Does anyone know what would work from another vehicle to replace this pulley? I assume I could just change the pulley part with its bearing and not change the tensioner part. Im sure this would cross reference to another vehicle. Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Might look at frame bonding points near the fuse box, and follow negative battery cable to find those. Of course testing may have tightened up the connections.

Can't help on the pulley, but you could "listen" to it and other things, like alternator, with a stick or long screw driver. Lets you hear the noise better. You may find that the noise is really bad, or that it is not as loud as some other things. Any junkyards nearby?

Whole thing is Dayco 89287

Pulley only should be a Dayco 89054

90 mm diameter, 32.6 mm W, 17 mm bearing ID, 07 rib maximum belt W, 1-bearing, non-flat polymer with flange, serpentine pulley type;

Orielly has it as a Gates 100 mm pulley, also fits:

Thanks Buzz. My theory is the two pulleys with rattle may have slowed alternator down a touch at start up and caused the code? Maybe a stretch. I have the belt off and spinning pulley by hand and have a little noise in the bearing but, not real bad. The stationary idler was pretty bad. Just need to find if there is a part that would cross refernce with this tensioner mounted pulley.

See my previous post, added more to it. Code generated when tranny computer sees below 9 volts. Bad battery or poor connections is the norm. Might have another place do a bettery test, tech skills and machines vary. BTW, on vacation this is no fun. If you need a budget battery, boneyards sell pull outs for $25.

Thanks buzz! Vacation is not the time to work on cars. My 5 little kids are not thrilled with the plan changing to daddy working on the car again.

And SWMBO won't like it either. The cost of retail therapy for her and the kids exceeds the price of the pulley....

round wire brush.
Clean the inside of the battery terminals on the cables
and the outside of the battery terminal connectors on the battery.
