The security system on a 2004 Disco SE that I am looking at has shut down. It is the navigation equipped system. The dealer gave me a 4 digit code but it doesn't unlock the system. The Rave CD indicates that it takes a 5 digit code to unlock the system. Any ideas on this? Is there a common digit that is used to put on the front or the back of the code? Thanks Phil

 

Try a 4 first

 

I am told that this is the key to unlocking the Nav/Radio system, the dealer will give you a 4 digit code. Look in the glove box for a bar code sticker. The sticker should have some numbers on it. The four digit code should be inlcluded in the number sequence. The remaining code digit, there are 5, is the number just ahead of the 4 digit code given by the dealer. For example, if the code is 5566 and the bar code sticker has the number 887945566, the nav/radio code is, 45566. Hope that helps. Still not sure of the 2004 purchase, great price, a few items to fix, probably $1500 to $2000 to get it up to par, plus a flight to and then a drive home from Northern Cal. SAI Pump, two Valves, window regulator and motor and a possible air bag issue, hopefully just dirty connectors, then a 60k mile service, frankly, I am not eager to jump into the plug wires.
