Help with Front rotor Removal PLease anyone?
Need help on removing front rotor from a 99 discovery series 2. I took the caliper off (2 12mm bolts) then I removed the caliper bracket (2 more bolts), on the actual rotor there is a holding screw that holds the rotor, I took that off, I even took off the large nut in the center of the hub, the rotor does not want to come off, does not even budge, almost as if its still held in place but by what if anthing?, I tried with a hammer to loosen it? Am I missing anything here? Ive done brakes on other cars surely its the same with the disco, any advice would be appreciated. thank you, is there something Im overlooking/missing?

WOW, they were on strong, I hammered it with a steel hammer until it broke loose,
I did all the rotors and pads, is this common for the Disco to have the rotor mate to the hub like that?
Also noticed that the driver rear hub, had gear fluid built up inside the rotor, I guess the axle seal is no good? How hard of a job is that to repairt?.
I also noticed a oil leak in between the trans and engine, might be a seal? But I am not sure. the car only has 55K miles and leaks have started, do you know what elese I should look out for, than can go wrong with the car.

rear axle must be removed chances are ( disco II) the hub assembly needs replaced, as far as trans and engine, bellhousing???? probably cross seals need drop the pan but rear main probably ok no need pull the trans
All four of my rotors were a bear to remove from the hubs.
With regard to the rear hub- definitely check the breather tube first. I would also service the Differential and look for water and how full it is.
Look at the cross seals.
Not sure what you are describeing for the leak--could it also be pinion seal on front differential?
