Default Help me find this...

I need to locate the high beam lead for each headlight in the circuit box. If anyone knows which one they are let me know. I have my driving lights mounted, now I just need to wire them. For now I am going strictly by the instructions that came with the lights. If you guys think the wiring should be different than what a hella product would reccomend let know, but it seems pretty straight forward.

THANKS!
Cameron.

Most states will ticket you if you run your aftermarket driving lights on the high bean circuit.

oh yeah good point... Actually now that I think about it I would like them to be on a separate switch. Would this mean just following the wiring directions on the extra circuit space? I guess what I am trying to say is this, is there a way that I can have them where I can turn them on just when I need them to be on? It came with a switch so even if I did have the high beams on I could switch them off...

Hmmm, is that confusing??

sure... I assume they came with a relay? wire the power into your battery, then take the switch lead from one of your accessory wires that is only hot with the key one. Mount the switch, wire and viola!

Do you have fog lights? You could trigger them with the fogs, or just use the fog lead to trigger and dis-able the fogs. Not sure if you have a spare switch space on your binnacle, but you can get a blank switch similar to the fog light switch and use it for your hella's.

Just wanted to throw out that option before you drilled a switch in somewhere else. I know people have used this set up for the solenoid activation for the CDL...

Isn't there a Bentley manual for the Disco? I am sure there is, and in there should be a wiring diagram for the entire truck. Wait wait! Here ya' go. Pretty much a must have, wouldn't ya say Mike?

I guess there are several ways "to skin a cat" as they say. I have Hella 4000 off road lights and wired the trip from the supplied relay from the high beam wire but instead of attempting to find the wire at the fuse box I tapped into it at the headlight, I just used my voltage meter to find the wire when I turned on the high beam.

I also have Hella fog lights but have them wired to the parking light lead at the same headlight.
