Default HELP!!! NO HORN or CRUISE!!!

My horn and cruise control does not work. The fuse in the engine compartment was blown. I replaced it it and still no horn and no cruise. I do however hear a click from the horn relay now when I press the horn or the "RES" button on the sterring wheel. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Have you checked the fuse inside, under the dash?

I checked and have no blown fuses under dash or in the fuse box under the hood. What next?

Possible bad horn. The culprit that usually brings down the system is a horn shorting our internally, blowing the shared fuse, and causing neither the horns nor the cruise to work.

If this were the case, what is the best course of action to remedy this issue? Replace horn and fuse?

If the horn is bad the only solution is replacing the fuse. Try unplugging both horns and see if it makes and difference. That should tell you if it is your horn causing the problem. Does the indicator light come on when you turn on the cruise control master switch?

No horn or cruise sounds like a related problem. Possibly the clock spring on the steering column. The clock spring is what the steering wheel function switches (horn, cruise, radio volume, airbag, etc...) plug into and it rotates with the wheel so the wires aren't constanly being cut and stretched.

The cruise control master switch power wire doesn't run through the rotary coupler(clock spring). Also, he stated that he can hear
the horn relay click when either the horn button or the resume button is pushed. Try rapping on the horns while a friend is holding the horn button down(like checking a starter for a sticking solenoid). Make sure the fuse is still good otherwise you won't come up with anything.

I am about to purchase a 2000 disco. Th ecruise does not work and the right horn button is no good either. However the left button works fine. Could this still just be the vacum lines or would it be the fuse.

What i really mean is does the fuse for the horn/cruise run both horn buttons?

Thanks

No, the horn and cruise are separate buttons, 90% of the time it is a leaky vacuum line or two that cause the cruise not to work.
