Default Help!! no oil pressure.

I just changed my front timing cover and oil pump and I'm not getting any oil pressure. I primed the pump with engine assembly lube and pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked the engine, still no oil pressure any suggestions?

Thanks all, Weston.

do you have a gauge on it? how do you know you have no oil pressure? does the filter have oil in it?

You did the cover so you pulled the pan. Did you make sure the pickup and pan were clean? You used a new gasket on the pickup tube where it mounts to the cover? With the pump, did you cover the gears with lube or pack it? It's tough for oil flow to get established. Also make sure your pan and oil filter are full of oil.

I have an oil pressure gauge, also the oil dummy light on the dash stays lit up. On the pick up are you talking about that O-ring? I didn't change that. That could be my problem right there. The pan is full of oil and I filled the filter with oil also, and I packed the cover and oil pump with assembly lube. The pan and pick up were also clean. Thanks.

i would say it time to drop the pan and see if the pickup has suction. its an 03 so it doesn't have a oil cooler correct?

That's correct no oil cooler. Do you think I could reuse the oil pan gasket as long as it stays intact?

I haven't been able to get a prime at all. I'm betting 04duxlr and drowssap are correct since I didn't change out the o-ring on the pick up. I'm going to check the pick up tube and gasket after work today.

So I changed the O ring and put an oil container with oil and submerged the pick up tube, had my girlfriend crank on it and its still not picking up oil. I'm going to pull the spark plugs so there is less resistance any other ideas?
