Default Help with OBDII code P0153

The code translates to: Oxygen Sensor Slow response **CODE** BU

Any suggestions on how I go about fixing the problem that caused this? Thanks in advance for your help.

In your Disco's 90 thousand miles, has she ever had O2 sensors replaced?

Default O2 sensors

I'm not sure if they changed them or not. I purchased the car shortly after that had been done. It is sitting about 98,000 miles right now. Given the code, I would have to guess that the dealer did not change them, or else the previous owner elected to not change them.

Sorry I'm such a noob, but I have to ask a couple of really stupid questions. How many are there, and where are they located? I'm pretty handy with a wrench, just not all that familiar with this O2 sensors. Thanks.

It is time to change all 4, go to Amazon.com where you will find good prices on them and do not buy the cheap ones with no plugs, they won't work well for you.

They are all on the "Y Pipe", before and after the cats. Craw under the truck and look at the exhaust pipes on each side just in front of the firewall. You'll see one on each side. Those are the upstream O2s.

Now look back right before the two pipes come together into a Y in front of the large muffler in the center. Those are the downstream O2s.

The connections are somewhat annoying to get to (especially the passenger's side downstream) but totally do-able. Do make sure you get a proper O2 socket or use a 6-point line wrench. You may not need it, but it's better than rounding one off with a standard open end wrench and having to pull the y-pipe to get the old one out/patch/re-bung.
