Default Help Out A Newbie DIY Mech...

I smell oil burning when I cut off my 96 Disco SE7 (140k). I'm tired of it now. I know I'm leaking oil from from my valve covers so I'm preparing to do a gasket job. I have assistance in the form of my Rave CD from RoverRenovations, a Hayes Automotive Manual for my truck, and some experience doing the same valve job on an92 Ford F250.

Now I know that usually you folks have some good suggestions of other items to replace or repair while certain parts are already out. Please post!!! I'd like to knock out as much stuff as possible in one trip!

Oh, and by the way, where can I find an inexpensive Idle Air Control Valve?

Thanks and Cheers!

For parts try
www.atlanticbritish.com and www.roverconnection.com/

It will be alittle different due to having to remove the top part of tne intake
left side, get two plugs that will fit the coolant lines that are on the
bottom of the intake.
Atlantic British has a FAQ and a common problem section that make good
reading.
