Default NE1 have a DI with an great body but is a mech. basketcase?

I'm finding bad rust on mine, in the engine bay & rear fenders especially. But mechanically it's great & so are the body panels & interior. So I'd love to get a body donor.

I know a guy with a straight 96. It overheats, but he isn't wanting to fix it. Where are you and what are you willing to pay?

keep an eye on craigslist. I see non-running D1s going for $500-$1000

use searchtempest.com it searches all the craigslists.

I'm up in Minneapolis. Rust free DIs are nearly impossible to find up here, So I expect to travel. How much I'm willing to pay depends on the quality & options, but I'd like to keep it at or below $1000.

Does it have the sunroof(s), or the jump seats? & has it ever been smoked in?
