Default Help possible heads gasket issue ?

So , I was replacing my front crank seal it was leaking bad , when I was under it I noticed bottom of the r head is leaking oil.

Im also getting a bunch of white smoke during startup that goes away after it warms up, it runs good so I’m kinda confused .

So, im thinking about doing the head gasket is there any way to tell if the block is cracked under the liner ? Don’t want to waste money

Thanks

Just did a 3” tf hd lift

What kind a of white smoke - heavy and thick or something else and how cold is it. Big V8's get a ton of condensation the exhaust, on a cold damp morning it can 10 minutes to clear, but it is pretty pale -see image below. It will be about 50% thicker if it is near zero F

I think you posted this on a failbook group as well and if memory serves, you did the exhaust gas test as well? If that came out ok, I’d just drive it. Other than that and putting oil in as needed, your only other option is to pull the engine for a full rebuild it seems.

You can;t tell if the block has a crack unless block is out and pressure tested......oil leak could be valve covers....
as far as bad head gaskets, this is ALWAYS a possibility (probably more likely than not)......does your coolant level keep dropping?

mileage?

Nice color and good looking disco!

If it only started with the smoking recently, then it is very unlikely that you have a cracked a block, the cracked block really only happens in a severe overheat situation where the owner keeps driving in anyway
