If the idlers, tensioner pulleys are all original...l'd change those...and a new belt (keep old one as spare).
Also, that black plastic tube, running to top of coolant reservoir, should be secured in that metal clip on end of jack housing. Those tubes are getting pretty brittle with age and any constant vibration will cause them to possibly fail. Hard to tell in the picture, but it almost looks as though it has been run over top of the radiator shroud, should be under neath.
Good luck, in you journey.
Brian.

Just have the belt serpentine belt replaced if you dont do the fixing yourself. Just check fluids each 1000 miles while in transit bring extra quart of oil and peak concentrate (green) it can be mixed with all coolant colors, in an emergency. Otherwise you are good to go. 3000 miles is easy for this truck and a AAA for the peace of mind and enjoy uour journey. Im close to NYC, well have coffee once youre here. Cheers

I regularly do 2000 to 3000 miles either in the D2 or LR4. How many miles do you do per week then divide that into 3K miles and if it never goes pop on you each week why should it go pop because you do more miles. Just ensure all your fluids are all topped up before you start off and take some engine oil with you just in case, personally I never bother as there are many gas stations en route.
Things to check and top up before you set off:
That's about it, oh, don't forget your mobile phone and breakdown recovery card

About the oil leak I'd check the 7/8 Bolt/Cap above the oil filter on the 03-04's without oil cooler's those have been known to seep if not fully tightened down. I've fixed several oil leaks on 03-04's by just tightening those up. Once is directly above the oil filter assembly, and the other is toward the front of the engine just behind the main engine pulley/Harmonic Balancer, on the front timing cover.
