Thumbs up Help with purchasing a 2003 HSE

Hello,

I'm in the market for a 2003-2004 discovery HSE. I have found one which looks to be what I'm looking for; a 2003 HSE with <80k on it. 2nd owner, garaged, well maintained. He claims since he purchased it in 2011, he has had zero mechanical issues. Paint is very good, interior is very good. It has been very difficult for me to find a nice 03-04 D2 HSE from a private party with less than ~90K miles in silver/white/grey that's reasonably close to me.

I am aware of the oil pump and head gasket issues. Is there anything else I should be aware of, and be sure to look for, when I check the car out? What is the VIN range for the bad oil pumps?

I plan on purchasing a bumper-to-bumper extended warranty through easycare or warranty direct.

He is asking too much: 11K. I have found many D2's for 7-8K, but none have looked nearly this nice. I am sure the consensus will be that this is too high, but is it really that high for a nice example?

Time constraints do not allow me to keep looking for much longer.

that price would be perfect.......if it was exactly what you wanted and if it had less than 15k miles, garage kept, has some upgraded bs, and a warranty.
so, yeah, it's a little overpriced.
