I have an '03 Disco 80,000 miles which I love and have had no problems until now. The problem is that my wipers stopped working, the heated seats won't work, and my radio has to be turned on and off manually. For some reason sometimes after driving for 20 mins they ( the wipers) will start to work along with everything else. I checked and rechecked the fuses with no results. We brought it in found out that the auxiliary fan had to be replaced. After replacing the fan everything then worked for 3 days then had the same problem with the radio, seats, and wipers. The seat position controls, heating/cooling, windows,sunroofs, and locks all still work. With such a odd combination We are having a hard time finding out what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas? That's not an odd combination at all.

Your ignition switch is going bad. Possibly one of the accessory relays or associated wiring, but most likely the switch itself.

If your mechanic didn't recognize this, it's time for a new one.
