You all helped me alot the last several months as I was searching for a Disco- I ended up purchasing an AWESOME 2004 Disco- but I still owe you all pictures! I will get those on here ASAP.

I have a question about 1996 Discos, and maybe someone could just outline the Discos/CDL status by years. My first question is this- Do 1996 Discos have CDL ready to go, ala 2004s?

My secondary questions are: What goes into a transfercase install or linkage hookup (may not be saying those correctly)? How costly are they, etc. Thanks folks...

 

Yes 96's have CDL's. All DI's have the CDL.

"1999.5-early 2001 have the CDL as well as the 2004." - From the "Write-Up" and "How-To" section

 

BUT there is not shift linkage inside the cabin to lock or unlock the CDL on those model years.
The linkage can be added, $200 for a DI linkage and $400 for a '04 linkage.
