Unhooking the MAF and there is no change in how it runs is a good indication that it is not working.
I would start looking for a used one.
I do not know how to test a MAF.

 

well here where i am now . good news i hope .
i bumped into an old friend who just happens to eat sleeps and craps land rovers does a lot of rallys etc ... this is after i go into a garage landrover specalist who said he would charge me £300 for a service its already had to find my problem plus parts . the first bloody thing ian done was take the pipe off of the distributor diaphram thing and suck it , there ya go he says diaphram burst . so hopefully all my problems with the very poor running is that , or am i clutching at straws

oh and got lpg to switch on , it turnrd out to be the red and brown wires that attach to coil
this is the most fun i have had with a car. i never got stuck into any other vehicle i have had. it just seems to scream get your hands dirty . i can now see why you get land rover nuts . glad to join ya's lol
