You can simply install a H4 HID conversion kit your original headlight housing. I have heard that the D2 headlights give a better beam pattern than the D1 but I never had any problems with mine.

If you want to remain legal, the only way to do it is replace the entire housing. Installing HID bulbs in housings not made for HID violates federal regulations.

no. doesnt work like that. you need to get an HID conversion kit with includes a ballast that would have to be placed in the engine compartment. but as stated above the beam pattern is going to be a mess because your halogen housing is not built for the beam pattern of an HID bulb. so you will blind oncoming drivers. if you want to do it correct you can install headlights from an 03 or an 04 with minor work they will fit.

I was told in no uncertain terms that I was a moron for putting HID in my '03 because the halogens somehow bend light differently than the HID bulbs. So I took them out. Even though there is a defined line where the light did not go above, including example photos and videos I was told I was wrong. So, my advice is to not bother with them.

If you want to see what HID's look like in an 03 - 15 feet from a garage door here is my video:

Photos of HID with dirty cellphone lens:

I took out the main lights and left in the foglights. They are fantastic.

I have a complete writeup on how to install these. If you are interested PM me and I will send it to you.

Doesn't matter, he only showed the lights out to 15', which is nowhere near real world usage.

15' is alittle short.
A video driving down the highway at night would be better.

But as already stated, HID kits are illegal.
